Lady Gaga will sing for the Queen, the real one, not the one she hangs around with in Hollywood.

The 23-year pop star will join Bette Midler, Michael Buble an Miley Cyrus for the Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool, London on December 7.

The Royal Variety Performances have been taking place for Queen Elizabeth II since 1955. Proceeds go to the Entertainment Artistes Benevolent Fund of which the Queen is patron.

One of the famous Royal Variety Performances was in 1963 when The Beatles played for the Queen, her mother and Princess Margaret. That was the show when John Lennon cheekily told the audience, “Will the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands. All the rest of you, rattle your jewelry.”

It will be interesting to see if Gaga dares to be so bold. “Will the people in the cheap seats clap our hands. All the rest of you wanna take a ride on your disco stick” maybe?
