Back in 2005, Lady Gaga was still Stefani Germanotta. She went on Ultraviolent Live, a New York University talent contest and came in third place.
Footage from the performance made its way to YouTube this week.
Stefani performed two original songs ‘Captivated’ and ‘Electric Kiss’.
“I’m going to give that demo to my record label. She is like straight up, talent,” said one of the judges.
Not long after she was signed to Def Jam Records but was dropped three months later.
After reinventing herself with performance artist Lady Starlight Lady Gaga was born. The rest, they say, is history.
