Rolf Harris is no stranger to rock. He once did a biting version of Led Zeppelin’s `Stairway To Heaven`. Now the legendary Australian entertainer has teamed with Rick Parfitt of Status Quo for a Christmas song.
‘Christmas In The Sun’ will be released on December 7 in the UK, making it a contender the number one song at the end of the year.
That could be a big ask. For the last four years, the number one song has gone to an X-Factor winner.
For the Harris – Quo song, out goes the snow and reindeer and in comes the sun and roasts.
The song was inspired by an Australian Christmas in the summer heat. Rolf grew up in the 1930s and very much lived the Aussie Christmas. For Australians, ‘I’m dreaming of a white Christmas’ is somewhat of an alien though considering so few places in Australian even get snow in winter.
Parfitt told the BBC “forget rock n roll, this is Rick n Rolf’.
