Peter Gabriel will release a covers album in January.
‘Scratch My Back’ is a collection of what Gabriel describes as “personal songs”.
The 12 tracks were recorded with just voice and orchestral instruments arranged by composer/arranger John Metcalfe. Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd/Lou Reed) was the producer and the album was mixed by Tchad Blake (Sheryl Crow/Tom Waits).
Gabriel recorded the album at George Martin’s Air Lyndhurst Studios and edited at his own Real World Studios in Wiltshire.
