Mammal Split

by Paul Cashmere - November 4 2009

After 4 years, Melbourne band Mammal is no more. The band issued a statement today (4-11-09) announcing they have broken up.

“Due to long standing personal, political, musical and business differences,
Mammal has decided it cannot continue and is no more,” the statement read.

Mammal formed in March 2006 and soon after released their self-titled EP.

They have had two live albums, the most recent ‘Vol 2: Systematic/Automatic’ in September and one solo album, ‘The Majority’ in 2008.

Singer Ezekiel Ox will release a solo album in 2010 titled ‘The Ox and The Fury’.

The other members Peter Williamson, Nick Adams and Zane Rosanoski will stay together and work on a new name for a new project next year.

In a farewell to fans, Mammal started “we wish to thank the fans for their unbelievably loyal and heartfelt support which gave us the opportunity to play some amazing shows, to release our records and travel the world. We will never forget these times”.
