Morrissey is in a hospital in Swindon, UK after collapsing onstage last night during his show at the Oasis Leisure Centre.
The 50-year old former Smiths singer slumped to his knees while straining to perform his first song ‘This Charming Man’ when two of his band members rushed to the singer and dragged him off stage.
Paramedics were called and Morrissey was taken to the nearby hospital where doctors now list him as “stable”.
The incident occurred around 9pm. An ambulance was called for a “man suffering from respiratory problems”. He was reported to be unconscious when the ambulance arrived.
Initially the audience thought it was an act. Morrissey has a track record for cancelling shows but this time it was serious.
The singer remained in hospital today and is under doctor’s watch until further notice.
