by Paul Cashmere - May 25 2009

In the Eminem vs Green Day first week chart battle, Eminen`s `Relapse` has defeated Green Day`s `21st Century Breakdown` by more than 4000 units.

‘Relapse’ was the number one album on the Australian chart this week, after selling 27,971 units. ‘21st Century Breakdown’ sold 23,892.

Both albums marked the return for the superstar and super band after a 5 year absence.

U2 still maintains the fastest selling album of 2009. ‘No Line On The Horizon’ sold 29,963 units in its first week on sale in Australia but is expected to become the fastest selling album of the year in the US when figures are released later this year.

For America, ‘Relapse’ is tracking to sell 600,000+ units. U2 did 480,000 first week back in March.
