The Strokes bass player Nikolai Fraiture will release his solo album as Nickel Eye on January 31.
‘The Time of the Assassins’ features London band South as well as special guests Regina Spektor and Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
South were a band he was introduced to by fans.
Nickolai says the album will pay homage to his heroes, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, The Kinks and Frank Black.
Ryko will release the album. "Ryko is the perfect home for Nickel Eye. I am honored to be part of a company with a history of such great artists that I grew up listening to," he said in a statement.
The album was recorded at South Studios in Hackney, London.
Nickel Eye played his first solo gig on October 15 last year at London’s Borderline.
