The notorious Bettie Page has suffered a heart attack and is currently in a Los Angeles hospital.
Page, 85, had recently spent three weeks in hospital after suffering from pneumonia, but suffered a heart attack shortly after being released.
Details are unclear at the moment, but AP reports a family friend saying she is in a coma. This is unconfirmed, though.
She was best known as the definitive 50s pin up girl, who’s (at the time) unique fetish style helped free up sexual taboos and partly inspired the free-love attitudes of the 60s.
She was one of the earliest Playboy Playmate of the Month in 1955.
In 2006 the biographical film ‘The Notorious Bettie Page’ chronicled her life from a child growing up in Nashville, TN.
