Klaus Voorman To Tell How He Did It

by Paul Cashmere - October 8 2008

Klaus Voorman, one of those names entwined with The Beatles from the Hamburg days through to the solo years, will speak at Popkomm on the panel `How Did You Do It`.

Voorman met The Beatles in Hamburg in the early 60s and designed the cover for the Revolver album.

Later, he played bass on John Lennon’s `Imagine` and George Harrison`s ‘All Things Must Pass’.

During the Popkomm Music Festival, more than 400 acts will showcase here in Berlin over the next 3 nights.

Popkomm is about music as culture, not music as marketing. It highlights the activity in various regions as opposed to the hype of a top 40 chart.

Last night, Turkey’s Athena performed at the Popkomm opening. Athena is a Turkish ska band. They were the Turkish entrants for Eurovision this year.

Over the next four nights, Popkomm will feature live music from Tricky, Travis and Finland’s Lordi.

Clare Bowditch and Sarah McLeod are two of 15 acts representing Australia.
