So are we about to hear an announcement from Sir Mick Jagger that he is about to retire' Not bloody likely.
Sir Mick turned 65 on the weekend, the age of retirement in Great Britain.
There is plenty of life left in the old devil. There is already talk of another Stones tour in 2009. Jagger, as grand poobah of the Stones empire, has also signed over rights to the catalogue from 1970`s Sticky Fingers onward to Universal Music, after a decade and a half with Virgin.
Happy birthday, Sir Mick, we salute you.
