Geldof accused of attacking fan

Bob Geldof has been accused of attacking a fan during a gig and breaking the man's nose.

Boomtown Rats' former backing singer, Zara H. Phillips, has made the claim in her new book stating Geldof defended her after she was abused by an admirer.

Phillips wrote Geldof kicked the fan so hard he broke his nose.

She says, "He kicked him once or twice, and blood came spurting out of the man's nose.

"He collapsed and other members of the crows started attacking him, and a big fight started."

Phillips, who worked with Geldof from 1986 until 1988, makes the allegations in her memoirs Mother Me.
