LA rappers The Game and Snoop both dodge jail time in separate cases.
A judge has effectively given The Game six months probation to stay out of trouble, following an incident where he reportedly impersonated a police officer. The Game was arrested last November after instructing a private car service driver to run a series of red lights, claiming to be an undercover cop.
The charges were dismissed on September 20, presumably because it would be hard to believe even an undercover policeman would have "LA" tattooed on his face. After a short hearing at New York State Supreme Court, the rapper said, "I love New York, but I hate the system. But, I hate every system."
Also, rap superstar Snoop Dogg (who incidentally played undercover informant Huggy Bear in the 2004 film 'Starsky & Hutch') avoided lockdown for the charge of possessing a dangerous weapon. He was arrested last year for carrying a collapsible baton in his hand luggage while travelling out of John Wayne Airport in California.
Dogg pleaded guilty and the Californian court sentenced him to 160 hours community service, three years probation, and he was ordered to donate $5,000 to youth charity Right Trak.
