The Eagles' new studio album is nearing completion, according to guitarist Joe Walsh.
Speaking to Billboard, Walsh explained that his contributions to the band's first studio album in almost 30 years "went rock'n'roll. [I] didn't want us to be too ballad-y here," he said. "We need some stuff we can play live, so I made sure there was that element in the record."
With only some vocal recording and mixing left to be done, Walsh said that the band were "finally signing off on it".
Don Henley suggested in June that the new album, to be titled 'The Long Road To Eden', will be released October 30. All band members contributed to the songwriting process, with Walsh explaining that it has resulted in the album going "in some really, really new, different directions. It's hard to compare to anything that I hear out there now."
